The Kayankerni Marine Ecosystem, located in the Batticaloa District of Sri Lanka's Eastern Province, lies in close proximity to the popular tourist destination, Pasikudah. Renowned for its exceptional biodiversity and rich species diversity, it underscores the urgent need for its conservation for future generations. In recognition of its ecological significance, the Department of Wildlife Conservation of Sri Lanka officially designated the Kayankerni Marine Ecosystem as a sanctuary in April 2019. Spanning approximately 953 hectares, the sanctuary encompasses a diverse range of habitats, including coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves, and a wide variety of marine life.
Two historic shipwrecks, the British armed merchant vessel SS British Sergeant, sunk by Japanese forces in April 1942, and the British transport ship SS Lady McCullum, which ran aground in 1926 have formed captivating dive sites at Kayankerni for wreck enthusiasts. Join us, and we'll take you beneath the surface to explore these remarkable underwater relics.

Our Story
Founded in 2025 by three people who are really passionate about SCUBA diving, marine conservation, and sustainability, Ecologix Adventures expects to be a pioneer of the ecotourism-based dive industry in Sri Lanka.
At Ecologix Adventures, we are dedicated to delivering an exceptional underwater safari experience while safeguarding marine ecosystems and supporting neighboring coastal communities. Guided by strong ecotourism principles, we approach every dive with a deep sense of ecological and social responsibility.
To preserve the serenity and delicate balance of the Kayankerni coral ecosystem, we limit each trip to just three divers, ensuring a more intimate, low-impact experience. At the same time, we actively collaborate with and empower the local community, creating opportunities for meaningful partnerships and shared benefits.
We believe that awareness drives conservation. That's why we engage our guests through education, offering insights into coral reef ecology, climate change, and the urgent need for marine protection. We also foster authentic connections between our guests and local communities, enriching the tropical experience while helping build resilience in the face of poverty and climate challenges.
